Crystals for Release and Renewal

While we can set intentions and manifest at any time of the year, the beginning of the year is a traditional time to set them for the year ahead.

Happy New Year! This is the time of year people like to make resolutions or intentions for the new upcoming year. This is something I have talked about a few times, however, I wanted to talk about crystals for releasing the old and bringing in the new.

While we can set intentions and manifest at any time of the year, the beginning of the year is a traditional time to set them for the year ahead. Although most people refer to it as resolutions, personally, I like the term intentions instead. I find it more positive, I intend to attain this intention or goal rather than, I am resolved to do it, which to me, makes it sound like I have to do it. That it is a chore. Much better to intend to do it because you want to and will have fun doing it.

People set intentions for many reasons, such as, weight loss, getting fit, getting healthy, increasing money, success, a new job/career, finding love, etc. Using crystals that help in the area(s) you are setting intentions for, are a great way to further the energy of your intention. However, there is a step in setting intentions that most people do not talk about and that is the releasing of any old energy that is holding you back. Old energy could be a block you have that is stopping you from attaining your goal, old beliefs or thought patterns, negative thoughts, old wounds, past life issues, etc. By releasing and letting go of old blocks, thoughts, energy, changing our way of thinking or tweaking what we think, feel and do, creates the space for the new energy to come in. This process is what Cheryl, who works for me at the store, calls spiritual decluttering. Once this is done, then proceeding with intention setting is much more successful.

Some ways to you help you release old energy are with the help of crystals, meditation, breath work, salt baths, focused healing work, journaling, pulling cards, etc. Ask yourself if you are ready to let this energy go as you must be ready to release it. If you are not ready, wait and do it when you are.

Crystals are wonderful tools and allies to help us release and then set intentions. Just like using crystals for anything else, use the ones to help you release that resonate with you. Using more than one crystal is fine as long as it feels good to you, but it is always good to start small, then build on what you are doing. This way you know exactly what is working.

While there are many crystals to help with releasing, I have chosen some that are more common and some that are different and interesting. They are:

Aquamarine is a crystal filled with water medicine that has flowing energy allowing you to go with the flow. It is a stone of release and renewal, helping what you are seeking or manifesting to float to you. Which means you can also use it when setting intentions. It is a crystal that gives you courage to let go and give over, providing a magical channel to connect with your emotions to heal past wounds. This is a beautiful crystal to teach us to flow and find a way that works for us.

Tangerine Quartz is a clear Quartz that has an iron or Hematite coating or staining. It helps with forgiving, keeping the past in the past and past-life healing. If we feel we have made a mistake that we regret or feel guilty for, it can help us release those feelings so we can heal them and move on. Tangerine Quartz can help us learn what the gift is in the experience we had and shows us that like attracts like and how to give and receive.

Sometimes we find ourselves repeating the same patterns over and over which can come from a past life. Working with Tangerine Quartz can help us to write new cellular memory to break those past life patterns.

Bronzite helps you to release what no longer serves you so you can move forward. If you are in a stressful situation, have dense emotions or some stuck energy, Bronzite can help with purifying and transforming that energy to be released with ease and grace. 

Serpentine is a very potent stone to activate the Kundalini life force energy. It will clear and balance all the chakras. As a snake sheds its skin to grow, so can Serpentine help us to shed unwanted energy, issues, etc., that are not for our highest good.

Covellite, especially if it contains Chalcopyrite and Quartz, helps us to release old karma so we can move forward and ward off negativity that blocks your dreams from becoming a reality. 

Shungite is very grounding and can be used for the Earth Star and Root chakras. It is detoxifying so helps to draw off negativity and impurities from people, spaces and water. Shungite can help to clear dysfunctional patterns, fear and anxiety.

Once you have released the old energy, you can use crystals to manifest your intentions, bring in new energy, dreams, goals, etc. Some ways to set intentions are by setting up a crystal grid, meditating holding a crystal, placing a crystal somewhere with intention, wearing or holding a crystal or simply writing out your intention and placing a crystal on top of it. There are many crystals for manifesting and setting intentions, some interesting ones are:

Arfvedsonite is powerful for manifesting your intentions. It helps to bring your dreams and wishes into reality, clears your mind and uplifts your energy. Meditating with it can bring prophetic visions. 

Champagne Aura Quartz, sometimes called Tangerine Aura, is a gem of success, it manifests wealth, prosperity, happiness and luck.

Chrysoberyl’s superpower is powerful manifesting, which helps you manifest your intentions from the heart, a place of tenderness and compassion. It carries the energy of infinite abundance and aligns your visions and dreams with what you desire. 

Citrine is a powerful money magic tool for manifesting abundance, wealth, but really it can be used to help manifest anything. 

The combination of rare Covellite with Chalcopyrite and Quartz, is called a miracle stone which helps to manifest miracles from all dimensions. It is very powerful for enhancing your intuition and manifesting your dreams.

Fluorite helps you to manifest jobs, brings optimism about the future, showing you a direction of where to go, how to proceed and where to seek guidance. 

Green Garnet boosts the growth of your wealth as it magnifies manifesting abilities and prosperity. Green Garnet is not as common as other colours of Garnet and has excellent healing and manifesting properties.

Imperial Topaz is a gem of prosperity, abundance, manifesting your dreams, goals and intentions in alignment with Divine Will. It can help attract new friendships and helpful people into your life that will benefit you.

Marialite, a type of Scapolite, helps in achieving and manifesting success in whatever area you intend. It helps clear the mind, get yourself and ego out of the way, bring order and structure to your thoughts so you can go forward to manifest and achieve the success you are intending.
